Getting up early from Monday to Friday to suffer an intense day at work and spend eternal and exhausting hours can cause us to return home together with our family and we are not in a position to be calm. The hours spent at the office and the time required to get home from work can cause us uncontrollable stress. These conditions make us suffer from nerves and fatigue that last throughout the week.
Work stress subtracts hours of leisure and time to spend with our family. It also causes health problems, because fatigue is constant and we don’t know how to balance working hours with family, in which we very possibly have to dedicate time to some children and a husband who are looking forward to seeing us.
Some families lose control by not finding a solution to this problem. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Changes caused by excessive working hours can also lead to maturation and greater balance and interaction in the family.
How to combat stress?
The less time available, the greater family reconciliation. All family members can suddenly be motivated to participate in chores around the house.
Communication is the key. If we feel overwhelmed with so much work and don’t express ourselves, and allow all our worry to remain only our knowledge, the situation is only going to get worse. If we talk to our family about what we need, on the other hand, they will know how to help us.
We have to know our rights. A part-time schedule and the need to enjoy our vacations will allow us to combine all the hours we need to dedicate to our family. Let’s not forget that the family is important, and not the company: many workers would be willing to give up part of their salary, in order to have more free time in exchange. Addiction to work, and an excessive dedication to the office, are unnecessary and will only make our children miss us too much and find us absent at the table during dinner. The free time that we have during the weekends can be used to forget about work and be with the family.
Exercises to put into practice
Work stress can reduce our appetite and increase insomnia. We suffer from anxiety, exhaustion, tiredness, but all this has a solution. Some exercises can calm us down, and practicing yoga can relieve our tension and give us a more positive attitude when we arrive with our family after work.
A massage can take away our stress, and trying by all means to organize our hours can offer us a few hours off to help our children with that drawing they want to do for Father’s Day.
