The most common causes of stress

Stress is the natural response of our need to adapt to the environment in which we find ourselves immersed and which is constantly changing, with each person’s level of adaptation and tolerance being different. As we well know, each person is different and therefore, there are certain situations that can generate stress in one person while for another they are insignificant.

Increasingly in the society in which we live, we are faced with situations and pressures in our family environment and especially at work, which we are not capable of facing if they are too great.

Most frequent causes of stress

According to different studies carried out, there are certain recurring causes in the diagnosis of stress that are associated with the different events of our lives, such as:

Overwork

One of the places we spend the most time these days is at work. There we face a large number of situations that can generate tension such as the workload, socializing with colleagues and bosses, delivery deadlines, working conditions or the different productive needs.

All this can make us not have the ability to face it, creating a feeling of frustration that excessively activates our defense mechanisms and our character is affected.

Our own thoughts

On certain occasions we ourselves can be our worst enemy and that is that to the extent that we are more demanding or perfectionist with our way of doing and being, we self-generate internal pressure that leads to stress.

In addition, the fear of failure when facing different important situations can make our thoughts the biggest barrier when facing them.

Love and heartbreak

It is one of the most frequent causes of stress since both being in love with a partner and being extremely afraid of losing that person, as well as not being in love and wanting unrequited love or living in a conflictive relationship, generate great insecurities in us that when we understand and process them as failures, they cause us a great deal of stress.

Big losses

Living extremely sad and harsh situations or the death of a loved one to whom we were especially attached, because a momentous change in our lives for which we are never prepared. The fact of facing it and having to move on generates stress for which it is more than likely that we need the help of a professional to overcome it.

Our environment

The fact of being surrounded by a negative environment, be it work or family, makes our inner light go out little by little. Negativity has the power to absorb our energy making us more vulnerable to stress and negative emotions such as sadness, anger or insecurity.

In addition, spending too much time in highly noisy environments increases stress, decreasing our ability to concentrate and productivity.
